How to learn to be Content

The Apostle Paul of the New Testament expressed his contentment this way. "I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content." Phil 4:11. For the most part, we are living in the most prosperous times of all times, but seemingly the most discontented generation. It is express in being discontented with our work, where we live, our possessions, and even our mates. This generation of discontent is acted out in our lives as a form of rebellion. Such as, if I don't like the people I work around, I'll move over here with some other people so I can get along together or change spouse and things will get better. Only to find that God has created something over there that is even worse. We tell the Lord we made this move to be happier, but we find out for the most part, we would have been better off where we were.

We must apply our circumstance to the keeper of our souls, leaning on his promises. "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, the Lord is my helper, and I will nor fear what man shall do unto me. " You can trust him, he never fails.
