Why didn't Jesus stay here with us; why did he go back to heaven to live?

When Jesus came to earth, this was not his home. His real home was in heaven with his father, God. He came to earth for a special purpose, to save all mankind from their sinful nature. Because of Adam and Eve's transgression, everyone needed a way to get back in communion with our Holy Father. For many, many years this forgiveness was given after people offered sacrifices. The Old Testament tells us how the people picked the best lambs from their flocks and killed them to offer the best that they had to their Holy Father. Jesus left his home in heaven to become the perfect sacrifice once and for all for everyone here on earth. He was the "best of the best". God sent His best to be our sin sacrifice.

When our parents have a job to do, many times it requires them to go out of town or to another area of the state to stay for awhile in order to get their job done. When their job is finished, they don't stay in that place. They come back home. Jesus had a job to do. His job was to die on the cross for our sins. When he did this, it was time for him to go back to his real home, heaven, and be with God, his father. Even though Jesus left this earth and went back to live with his father, we have his promise that he will come again. John 14:2-3

"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."

Jesus also realized that we would miss him when he was not here. He loved us enough to even take care of that. John 14:16-18

"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you."

What a loving, holy saviour! He loved us so much that he provided a way to be with us everywhere we are, because he is inside all his children. His children are all who have trusted him for the salvation of their souls. Praise his Holy Name!
